The Chess Community
It is imperative that as a community, that the chess associations and groups come together to help further the advancements, functionality, and the overall success of chess. Through our affiliations, CAAS is better prepared and equipped to take on our latest endeavors of spreading scholastic chess opportunities across the state.
As an affiliate of US Chess, CAAS is able to create USCF rated tournaments with the option of providing discounted USCF IDs and renewals for all scholastic participants 18 years old and younger.
Arkansas Chess Association
The Arkansas Chess Association helps to educated, promote, organize, and host chess tournaments across the state of Arkansas. They also help find Arkansas representatives of all age levels to travel to other states for National Tournaments. Without the support of the Arkansas Chess Association, CAAS would not have as many resources, tournament directors, or support that we do today.
West Little Rock Chess Club
The West Little Rock Chess Club is managed by the Harper family: Kristie and Travis, and their children: Krista and Gavin. Not only are they all USCF qualified Tournament Directors, they are also active members of the chess community. This family has offered support to CAAS in ways that couldn't be explained. Without them, the changes that CAAS has made to increase tournaments and further develop chess in Arkansas wouldn't be nearly as far along as we are today.
